Pirates tried and failed twice in under half an hour to board a Monaco-owned tanker off East Africa on Thursday, TradeWinds has learned.
The hijacking attempts on the 39,000-dwt Endeavor I (built 1981) were carried out under the cover of darkness off the coast of Kenya.
The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) reports that four pirates in one skiff set upon a products tanker underway 43 miles north east of Mombasa.
