Somali pirates got more than they bargained for when they opened fire on a Norwegian vessel off the coast of Kenya on Sunday.
The attack on the 7,200-hp Geo Barents (built 2007) followed another on a Tanzanian vessel on Friday and the hijacking and subsequent release of a Greek ship at the weekend.
The seismic survey vessel Geo Barents was fired at a short distance from the Kenyan coast north of Mombasa on Sunday, TradeWinds has learned.
