A Danish ship with sensitive cargo which was stormed by pirates in the Indian Ocean on Wedneday has managed to avoid hijacking.
Turkish troops are currently onboard the 1,780-dwt Leopard (built 1989) and are attempting to break into a citadel where it is hoped the six crew members remain, an informed source told TradeWinds.
It also emerged on Thursday that an Orient Overseas International (OOIL) suezmax came under attack in the same region but managed to avoid capture (see report below).
