The Indian government has pledged to remain committed to its assurances made at the recently concluded environment summit at Paris – COP 21 as it plans to use renewable energy at state-owned ports.
According to shipping ministry officials, under the Green India initiative, the government plans to increasingly use solar power at state-owned ports instead of fossil fuels in the coming years.
