All four have participated in the ALS Association’s Ice Bucket Challenge, a campaign that has helped the Washington, DC-based charity raise over $30m in less than four weeks.
Dozens of athletes, politicians and Hollywood’s hottest stars have participated in the challenge and prominent members of the shipping industry are following suit.
Robin Heath of Gemini Tankers recently took the plunge and invited three friends to douse their own heads with buckets of ice water on video.

One of the nominees, industry veteran Tobias Konig, has already accepted the challenge and is scheduled to suit up at 5:00 this afternoon.
Friends and colleagues have been invited to attend the event, which will be held at the private residence of long-time associate Johnny Kulukundis in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Konig says refreshments will be served and notes attendees who are interested in supporting ALS will be given an opportunity to access the donation portal found on the organisation’s website.
ALS is an acronym for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a condition the non-profit describes as a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
The association funds research and wide variety of assistance programmes for people who suffer from ALS, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
