A Stena drillship has been hit by a Greenpeace protest off the UK as protesters clamber onboard in an effort to thwart deepwater drilling plans.
The 58,300-gt Stena Carron (built 2008) has been rendered unable to set sail for charterer Chevron after the two environmentalists struck off Shetland on Tuesday.
The protestors stormed the Bermuda-flagged vessel in speedboats and climbed up the anchor chain before setting up a tent hanging five metres above the water, Greenpeace wrote in a statement on its website.
