Thomas Thune Andersen is becoming Lloyd’s Register’s new chairman as one of the worst-kept secrets in London shipping circles was confirmed on Thursday.

The former head of Maersk Oil will from the start of next year take up the reins from present incumbent David Moorhouse who earlier announced his retirement.



Fifty five-year-old Thune Andersen was widely tipped to fill the non-executive hot seat at the classification society having been elected to LR’s governing board of trustees in June.
