In a statement the organisation said the coronation of Captain Panagiotis Tsakos will take place during a gala dinner that will mark the conclusion of the Shipping 2015 conference and exhibition at the Hilton hotel in Stamford.
The annual gathering, which has become one of the largest and most popular maritime events in the US, is scheduled to begin on 23 March and will end three days later.
