Shipowner Nakilat will take a break before assuming management control of any further large LNG carriers from energy major Shell as it consolidates the vessels it has fixed and enters a key period for special survey work on its fleet.
The Qatari LNG owner has now completed what it terms as phase one of the transition of 10 LNG carriers from Shell International Trading & Shipping Co (Stasco) to Nakilat’s own in-house management subsidiary, Nakilat Shipping Qatar Ltd (NSQL).
