Edison Chouest Offshore announced plans to launch shipbuilding operations at in Gulfport, Mississippi.
The Louisiana offshore vessel owner and builder plans to invest $68m on its new TopShip yard, which will occupy the site of a former composite facility run by military shipbuilder Huntington Ingalls.
“With the help of the state of Mississippi, we will modify our TopShip facility to become one of the safest and most efficient shipyards in the nation, building Chouest pride for our employees,” said chief executive Gary Chouest.
