A call for industry action over the high incidence of fires on ro-ro and passengerships is being made by the Norwegian Hull Club (NHC).
The Bergen-based insurance mutual wants shipowners, classification societies and flag states to examine the increasing frequency of fires on car carriers and ro-ro vessels, as well as ferries and cruiseships.
The NHC warns that the frequency of fires is 1.3%
