Daitoh Trading is planning to take five new stainless-steel chemical tankers contracted in Japan as part of an overhaul of its fleet.

Japanese yard sources say the Tokyo-headquartered company wants to take delivery of two 16,000-dwt ships in 2019, two in 2020 and the final ship in 2021.

Daitoh controls 11 IMO type 2 and type 3 chemical tankers of between 13,500 dwt and 22,000 dwt.
