Finnish technology group Wartsila will supply propulsion systems for the world's first offshore construction vessel (OSV) to be powered by LNG.
The ship is being built by Cosco in China for DEME of Belgium.
In addition to the dual-fuel engines, Wartsila will provide its LNGPac fuel storage and supply system and propulsion kit, the Finnish company said.
"The decision to utilise clean-burning LNG fuel represents our commitment to provide environmentally sustainable solutions for our operations," said DEME head of newbuilding and conversion Jan Gabriel.
