The US experienced a near four-fold increase in LNG exports in 2017, according to the US Energy Information Association (EIA).

Volumes hipped overseas reached 1.94 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) last year versus the 0.5 Bcf/d in 2016, the government body said.

Three countries – China, South Korea and Mexico – accounted for 53% of US LNG exports in 2017, all of which originated from Louisiana’s Sabine Pass liquefaction terminal.
