Exmar says the Spanish investor firm Cobas Asset Management has taken a sizable stake in the shipowner.
Through various entities, Cobas amassed 2.98 million shares, representing just over 5% of the Nicolas Saverys-led group.
Exmar shares were last quoted at €6.27 in trading on the Euronext exchange, a 3% gain for the day.
The shares have rallied hard over the last year, rising about 57% from last June after the company made moves to shore up its balance sheet.
