Trader and charterer Glencore has said it made $4.5bn of payments to governments around the world in 2017, up from $4bn in 2016.
Its latest report on tax and transparency reveals how much it contributes to local economies through its operations, it added.
Of the total, $2.78bn related to the EU accounting directive extractive industries’ reporting requirements.
