UK shipowner Bibby Line Group (BLG) has appointed John Cresswell as CEO, replacing Sir Michael Bibby.
Cresswell will "lead the group through its next phase of growth and investment," the company said.
He will join on 1 May and take over from Bibby during the summer, following a period of transition.
Cresswell was most recently CEO of UK communications infrastructure company Arqiva and has previously worked for TV company ITV as CFO and COO.
