Taiwanese liner operator Evergreen Marine has placed a newbuilding order in China for another three scrubber-fitted, 24,000-teu container ships.
The vessels will be built at China’s Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding at a total cost of between $500m and $550m.
“The decision to order these vessels was taken based on our strategic plan to meet future service demand,” the Taipei-listed company said in a statement.
