An aframax tanker is reported to have run aground in the Suez Canal after suffering a suspected steering gear failure.
The incident, thought to involve Sovcomflot’s 105,542-dwt Zaliv Amurskiy (built 2008), occured at 41km of its transit of the canal at about 16:30 on Wednesday.
The vessel was number 19 in the northbound convoy, made up of 25 vessels, said ship agency company GAC.
